The
newest ski resort in Tarentaise: Sainte Foy enjoys a micro-climate: regardless
of snow conditions in other valleys, it has snow throughout the
winter from December 15 until April 10 at least. The skiing area
looks across to the majestic Mont Pourri range. It includes 13
runs for alpine skiing (3 black, 7 red, 2 blue, and 1 green) totalling
25 km of delimited ski runs and a variation in height of 1070
m on about 1000 hectares. There is a wide variety of slopes for
all standards of skier, from experts to beginners.
The last great undiscovered area in the Alps: Sainte Foy is well known beyond the limits of the region of Haute Tarentaise for the immensity and excellent quality of the area offered for off-piste skiing. The lifts provide access to an amazing area along the Italian border. The two most famous itineraries of off piste skiing are the north face of Fogliettaz and the Monal, an historical high alpine village. Saint Foy is also a surfer paradise; there you will find the powder of your dreams...

Cross-country
skiing:
Sainte Foy has an outstanding ski area covering 8000 hectares
and over 2000 meters vertically. In spring, cross-country skiing
is well known on the site; it gives access to a virgin area bordering
on Italy with summits exceeding 3000 m: Le Grand Assaly (3166
m), Le Bec de l'Ane (3217 m), La Pointe d'Archeboc (3272 m), La
Pointe des Mines (3420 m), La Pointe du Nant Cruet (3610 m), L'Aiguille
de la Grande Sassiere (3747 m). Those who have been lucky enough
to get to the top of the Ruitor in Italy (3486 m) either by helicopter
or by foot will never forget the dazzling sight. It's also a 20
km descent from this peak to the village of Sainte Foy Tarentaise,
way down the valley!
