Sainte Foy in summer

Hiking is the best way to discover Sainte Foy. Among other beautiful places, the village of Le Monal is a protected site located on a plateau sprinkled with little lakes and surrounded by larch forests; it faces the Mont Pourri glaciers and offers a breathtaking view. Three refuges are installed in the commune: L'Archeboc (+33 4 79 09 51 30), Le Ruitor (+33 4 79 06 92 12) and Le Monal (+33 4 79 41 05 73) from which you can go for all types of hikes, excursions of several days or climbs on the neighbouring glaciers. And right on your doorstep are the Vanoise and the Grand Paradis National Parks. Created in 1963, over an area of 53000 hectares, the Vanoise National Park is the primary and most prestigious French national park. This domain is the kingdom of the ibex, the chamois, the marmot, and the royal eagle among other wild animals. Various exposures and altitudes allow a rich plant life. Sainte Foy is also devoted to sport during the summer: tennis, mountain biking, riding, paragliding etc.
