Aquatic Systems 

	Primary rainforest is part of a large interconnected system. Oxbow lakes can form when river bends get cut off. Changes in river levels bring nutrients into the rainforest but are a source of disturbance during floods. Below are some images of "Lago" (directly translated as "Lake") and the Rio Tiputini. The painting at the left is from the cover of Terborgh (1992).
