I am a National Reserch Council postdoctoral fellow, housed at the NASA Ames Research Center. I am currently working with Dr. Vern Vanderbilt. I earned my doctorate in Ecology from the University of California, Davis in December of 2004. Dr. Susan Ustin, director of the Center for Spatial Technologies and Remote Sensing (CSTARS) was my graduate advisor. My dissertation, entitled "Monitoring tropical and montane forest dynamics and structure using remote sensing", focused on three diverse topics: a novel multitemporal analysis of deforestation in the Yasuni National Park, a hyperspatial mapping project of the Lake Tahoe Basin, and an automated cross-calibration algorithm. I am currently investigating the application of computer vision techniques to the analysis of hyperspatial imagery from Lake Tahoe Basin and Yosemite National Park using both spaceborne and aerial sensors.

My website is in the process of being overhauled and moved to the NASA servers, so please excuse any old or broken links. My email address has changed, and is now jgreenberg@arc.nasa.gov so please update your address books!
